What makes the Avalon SteveJobsSchools unique?
Avalon SJS is unique in its focus to personalised learning for each student and to break away from the traditional one-size-fits-all’ learning environments.
Avalon SJS software makes it possible to use technology effectively in a school set-up with adaptive learning programs, supporting educators and enabling learners to work at their own pace and to their own strengths.
Technology is used to enhance the learning experience eg. in maths, personalised adaptive programs, adjust to each learner’s level and gives real time feedback to their teachers. While students work individually, teachers can assist individuals where needed.
Learners have choices of interest- and ability based workshops for certain periods of the day. Research shows that with choice, learner engagement is much enhanced.
We encourage and help our students to find their inner inventor, creator, artist and mathematician. We don’t limit ourselves to STEM but believe in STREAMAC Science, Technology, Reading (Languages), Engineering, Arts, Mathematics, AI & Coding are all important study areas for the future.
We offer workshops in Coding, Robotics, early Engineering and Science to students as young as 7.
At the Avalon ELC our youngest learners are immersed in a unique learning culture, from the moment they arrive. We offer a challenging curriculum with inquiry-based learning and a strong focus on literacy, numeracy, physical development and creative arts.
